The First Symposium of Geneticists in B&H

The First Symposium of Geneticist in B&H, organized by Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, was successfully held in Hotel "Europe" on February 17th and 18th 2011.

We are pleased that our efforts to invite and inform a wider circle of scientists at home and abroad have resulted in more than 100 official registration of participants, including two academicians, 33 PhDs and 16 Masters of Science. In particular, we emphasize that among the lecturers local and international scientists who work at significant university and scientific centers in the United States, France, Great Britain, Italy, Croatia and the territory of entire Bosnia and Herzegovina were present.

Ten planary lectures, 35 oral and 31 poster presentations were presented within four sessions: General Genetics, Genetics and Biomedicine, Genetics in Biotechnics and Genetics in Forensics.

On completion of scientific and expert part of the Symposium formal Founding Assembly of the Association of Geneticists in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held.

The initiative, organization and implementation of the Symposium was supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science.
